Tilton Family Bedroom Wash Set and Tureen-
Circa late 19th Century eight piece vintage set of ceramic pottery pieces feature a blue and white transferware floral design with gold trim. The set, including a water pitcher and bowl, soap dish and toothbrush holder, are meant to be placed on a wash stand in the bedroom. The manufacturer of these pieces is Columbian Art Pottery from Trenton, NJ, as indicated on the bottom of the pieces. The largest piece is a covered jar or tureen, featuring prominent side handles, often used for serving or decoration. Although the piece matches the others in the set, the mark on the bottom of the tureen indicates it was manufactured by W.M. Tatler Decorating Co. The owners of this set are not known for certain; however, since sketches of the pieces were found in the drawings of Irma Tilton, it is likely the set was owned by the Tilton family. The pieces are, unfortunately in poor condition. Each piece has chips, cracks, and evidence of being glued.
