"300. La Grande Station, Los Angeles, Calif.," C. B. Waite, ca. 1890s. The image is taken from across the street and takes in most of the front elevation of the distinctive Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad terminal and its Moorish-inspired architecture, including its main domed tower toward the center and various wings and sections with arched details and curved walls. A horse-drawn wagon is parked next to a small open structure at the street.
"478. West Lake Park, Los Angeles, Calif.," C. B. Waite, ca. 1890s. On the reverse of the above photo, the view is taken from a corner of the lake and looks back toward the boating pavilion with its open domed observation deck topped by a large American flag and another steeply-roofed pavilion to the left. Portions of landscaped walks, a boat or two in the water and, in the distance, parts of mountains are also of note.
In both cases, there is some light soiling and minimal edge rubbing and the condition is good.
