"Report of the Committee on the Judiciary with the Views of the Minority of that Committee on Bill S. 350, for the Admission of California Into the Union as a State," 30th Congress, 2nd Session (S. Rep. Com., No. 256), 15 January 1849 (Washington: Wendell and Van Benthuysen,) 1849. The document consists of the majority opinion that the bill, which proposed to include all territory assumed from Mexico in the recent war should be one state of California, be rejected, while the minority report, which follows, supports the bill. With liquid stains, discoloration, edge tears, creases, and stains, the overall condition is fair.
