BOOKS, "CALIFORNIA BLUE BOOK OR STATE ROSTER," compiled by E. G. Waite, Secretary of State (Sacramento: State Printing Office,) 1891. The 278-page item, the first of the series, has much information about state government including national and state constitutions, election laws, census returns for the 1890 census, voting statistics for the 1888 Presidential and state elections, information for state officials, politicians, commissioners, and etc., staff and faculty at state educational facilities, staff at state institutions, lists of notaries public, incorporated cities and towns, officials of counties, and past and present members of the legislature. There are some prints of state buildings as illustrations, as well. In fair condition, the book's covers have fading, stains, soiling, scratches, edge wear, and other issues, while pages have browning, and some foxing on the flysheets.Lexicon
