PHOTOGRAPH, CABINET CARD, "ADAMS STREET, LOS ANGELES, CAL. 157," by Best & Co., Los Angeles, 1897. The view shows the dirt road at left, a sidewalk with a grassy median containing pepper trees, and the front lawns of houses (out of view) with lawns, bushes, and shrubs. In the foreground right is a stone sign with the house number "758." The caption is at the bottom, along with the preprinted company name and address of the studio. There is an inscription in ink on the reverse reading "No 11 Adams Street / near Los Angelos / 1897 / W.H.S." With stains and soiling, a very slight curvature of the mount, and corner and edge wear, the condition is fair.Lexicon
