Description

Color: Black; White "Los Angeles Weekly Herald," Volume 2, Number 35, June 26, 1875. The item has the periodical's name, volume and number, and day and date in the masthead. The front page contains local, national, and international news, including material relating to the Los Angeles and Independence Railroad, of which F. P. F. Temple was treasurer. Page two contains more of the same as well as editorials and two columns of advertising. Page three is mainly local and state news from the daily editions of the paper on the past Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, including a reference to F. P. F. Temple's election as treasurer of the Cooperative Nursery and Fruit Company and there are other news items. Page four has further editorials, local news, and telegraphed items from the nation and world. Page five is devoted to the Masonic celebration of St. John the Baptist with mention of Thomas W. Temple in it. Finance and trade items are also present. Page six continues editorials, state, and local news, as well as a section called "Sunday Reading." Page Seven has telegraphed national and world news, advertisements, and a list of proposed state constitutional amendments, which continues through page eight, which has a few more advertisements. With brittleness, creases, soiling, discoloration, a center fold, a stamp and pencil identification of a previous owner on the front page, stains, and edge tears, the condition is fair.
