Description

Color: Blue; Gold "History of Los Angeles County, Volume Two" by John Steven McGroarty (Chicago and New York: The American Historical Society, Inc.,) 1923. The hardcover book consists of 551 pages and is the second of three volumes. It has a pebbled leather cover in navy blue with gold spine lettering giving the title, volume number, note that there is an index, and the author's last name. There are marbled flysheets in the work, which has many biographical sketches, many illustrated with portrait photographs, of prominent county residents. With cover and spine rubbing, slightly dented corners, minor soiling, page yellowing, slight fading of spine lettering and of the page edge gilding, and slight tears at the cover and spine edges, the condition is good.
