Description

Color: Black; Blue; Green; Red; Yellow; White A brochure for Catalina Island, issued by the Wilmington Transportation Co., 1928. The artifact has the words "Catalina / Island" at the top of the front and back in yellow. At the center of the front is a color drawing of a woman in a red and yellow bathing suit holding a beach ball in her right hand. At the bottom left of the front is a blue and yellow flag with the letter "W." At the right in blue is "In All the World / No Trip Like This." At the center of the back is a color drawing of the steamship "Catalina." At the bottom in blue are the words "California's / Magic Isle." Inside are a map of the island illustrating its many points of interests and roads, as well as listings of the many visitor activities; hotels and clubs; schools; a brief history; and a timetable and ticket prices for steamships. The timetables and ticket prices are for May and June 1928. Many black and white photographs and some color illustrations are included. With light abrasions, small creases, and light soiling, the object is in good condition.
