Description

An article, "Huge Concrete Girders and Trusses in New Theater," Roy C. Mitchell, Engineering News-Record, 5 July 1923 (Vol. 91, No. 1.) The piece, by an engineer with the architect, Edwin Bergstrom, has technical information about the building of Grauman's Metropolitan Thatre in Los Angeles, especially the use of reinforced concrete roof trusses and girders for the 126-foot span of the structure. There are several drawings and half a dozen photographs showing elements of the construction described in the piece. With minor creasing, light soiling, and moderate edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
