"Puente Union High School Manual," issued by the Puente Union School District, 1923. The booklet has 30 pages and a brown cardstock cover. The title and year are at the top of the front. At the center is a drawing of an ivy stem. The school's location is at the bottom. All of the printing on the cover is in black ink. On the inside front cover is a poem entitled "The Way." At the beginning are a title page and general information on the benefits of attaining a high school degree; admission requirements; report cards; work load; graduation requirements; and a listing of teachers. Listed are the many departments in the school including English; Foreign Language; History; Mathematics; Science; Home Economics; Commerce; Mechanic Arts; Art; Music; and Physical Education. Under each department is a listing of corresponding courses. At the end are listings for college entrance requirements and of subjects by year. On the inside of the back cover is a short article entitled, "Introducing the Success Family." Written in pencil on the exterior of the back cover are class period numbers and course names. With some abrasions; light creases; small dents at the corners; and light stains, the artifact is in fair condition.Lexicon
