"American Cookery," December 1929, Vol. 34, No. 5, published by The Boston Cooking School Magazine Co. The front cover of the 83-page periodical has the title at the top, including the note that the magazine was formerly called "The Boston Cooking School Magazine of Culinary Science and Domestic Economics", the month and year, the volume and number, and the single issue and yearly subscription costs at the upper portion, along with the phrase "HOLIDAY SWEETS FOR GIFT OR GUEST" at the very top. At the bottom is the name and address of the publisher. Between the text is an image of a pudding within a stylized design showing grain strands, a coffee pot, a pitcher, and other utensils. Contents include articles on housing cars at home, a short story, holiday sweets, puddings, editorials, recipes, a Christmas dinner menu and menus for the month of December, Christmas Eve decorating ideas, and others. There are many photographs as illustrations and a number of food-related advertisements. With spine and edge rubbing, light cover creases, a dented bottom right corner, surface soiling on the cover, page yellowing, folds at the top right corner of pages 375-78, a slightly loose cover, losses to the bottom of the spine, stains on the cover and staple tarnish on the cover and pages, and tears to the top and bottom of the spine, the general condition is good.Lexicon
