Description

"Irrigation in California [Southern]," by William Hammond Hall (Sacramento: J.D. Young, Supt. State Printing,) 1888. The second and final volume of Hall's intended larger survey of irrigation for the state, the item examines in minute detail existing irrigation projects, ditches, flumes and other works in San Diego, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties. Three maps, two statewide showing defined drainage areas and measured average rainfall and a map of Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties irrigation areas, as well as twelve plates of types of dams generally and in California are at the back. With a few loose pages of the preface, some tears on the maps, lightly browned pages and rubbing, bumping, soiling, small stains, scuffs, and scratches, the overall condition is good.
