"A REVIEW OF THE CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE MEXICAN WAR" Color: Green; Gold "A Review of the Causes and Consequences of the Mexican War," by William Jay (2nd ed., Boston: Benjamin B. Mussey & Co.,) 1849. The hardcover book has an embossed floral design on the covers and the title and author's name on the spine. The 333-page work has thirty-seven chapters and an introduction that deal from early efforts to seize Texas to prewar incidents that led to the declaration of the conflict to the commencement of the war starting at chapter twenty to the "Moral evils of the war", ruminations on "Glory," "Patriotism," and "War, and the means of prevention." With spine and cover edge rubbing, acid burns on some pages, dented corners, surface soiling on the covers, discoloration on covers and pages, folds at the lower right corner of some pages, foxing, moisture damage on the top of the back cover, and stains on some pages and the bottom of the inside rear cover, the overall condition is good.
