"JOURNALS OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA," 2ND SESSION, 1851 Color: Black; Blue; Brown; Gold "Journals of the Legislature of the State of California at Its Second Session," published by Eugene Casserly, State Printer, 1851. The document has blue marbled paper boards with brown leather trim and leather spine with a black label and gold lettering reading "SECOND SESION / 1851." The report is a day-by-day reporting of the activities of the legislature from January 6 to May 1, 1851 including the introduction, deliberation on, and voting on bills, messages to the body, reports of various state bodies, including financial reports. At the back of the 1,860 page document is an index to the proceedings. With the covers detached, rubbing to edges, brittle pages, soiling, discoloration, spine flaking, folds on some pages, foxing, losses to the spine, moisture damage to some pages, and scratches on the covers, the overall condition is fair.
