Description

"Franciscan Missions of California: Their History and Traditions With Synopsis of Mission Play," ca. 1910s. The pamphlet contains capsule histories of the chain of California missions built during the Spanish and Mexican eras as well as the synopsis of John Steven McGroarty's "Mission Play," performed at San Gabriel from 1912 until the Great Depression era and of which Walter P. Temple was an avid supporter. With soiling, creases, edge wear and some tears, as well as a loose binding, the condition is fair.
