"579. H.C. Dillon's ranch, Los Cerritos, Long Beach, Calif.," by Frederick H. Maude, ca. 1894. The image shows two boys sitting amongst an orchard with a home and another building on a low hillside in the background. The property, not to be confused with the Bixby family's historic Rancho Los Cerritos on the opposite side of Long Beach, was owned by the former District Attorney and was profiled, with this same image, in the "Land of Sunshine" magazine in September 1894. There are typed and handwritten inscriptions on the sleeve, which is in two pieces and in very poor shape. The negative, however, appears to be in good condition.
