Description

"Rest at Rincon," San Gabriel Mountains, about March 1916. The image shows three men and two woman standing near ot sitting on the steps to a wood cabin with a women's restroom door open behind them. In the background is the river and portions of some of the nearby mountains. At the bottom margin is the inscription "Rest at Rincon." This camp was located at the west fork of the San Gabriel River fourteen miles above Azusa before the floods of 1938 destroyed the site, where a USFS fire station is now located. With some album paper residue on the reverse and light soiling on the front, the condition is good.
