"CLIMATE, SOIL CHARACTERISTICS, AND IRRIGATION METHODS OF CALIFORNIA," 1895 Color: Beige, black The pamphlet was written by Charles W. Irish, Chief of the Irrigation Inquiry Office of the United States Department of Agriculture. The pamphlet was reprinted from U.S. Department of Agriculture yearbook. There is information pertaining to California precipitation levels tracked by the seasons of 1849-1890. Recordings also document climate, soil and irrigation changes and methods within the state of California. Provided within the pamphlet are precipitation tables of the Sacramento Valley which include Colusa; Marysville; Knights Landing; Woodland and the city of Sacramento itself; Riverside; San Joaquin Valley and dessert locations; illustrations; photographs of two irrigation orchards. The pamphlet has visible creases, discoloration as well as a loose page, with minimal damage it is in good condition.
