Description

"From East Prussia to the Golden Gate," by Frank Lecouvreur (New York and Los Angeles: Angelina Book Concern,) 1906. The work is the autobiography of the Prussian-born engineer and surveyor who lived in Los Angeles from the 1855 to his death. Most of the work concerns his trip from Europe to San Francisco to dig for gold with his experiences in Los Angeles coming only in the last forty or fifty pages. There are a few illustrations, including of Lecouvreur. With the boards soiled and bumped and pages slightly browned, the condition is overall good.
