Description

"Resources of the Pacific Slope," J. Ross Browne (San Francisco: H. H. Bancroft and Company,) 1869. The item consists of a report made by the author to the House of Representatives and dated 5 March 1868. The section on California begins on page 12 and concludes at 298. Nevada, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Washington and Oregon are also described with respect to mining, agriculture, and other resources with smaller sections on Alaska and brief summaries of Mexico, South America, British possessions in the Pacific and Canada and Siberia. An appendix is Browne's "A Sketch of the Settlement and Exploration of Lower California." With black cloth tape at the spine and extensive wear to the boards, while pages have soiling, creases and some stains, the condition is fair.
