A cabinet card photograph of the McCarthy Cut, Los Angeles, California, 12 March 1901. A photo of marshland in Los Angeles. There appears to be dirt in the middle of the water. There is a man standing on the bank of the cut. The reverse, inscribed in ink, "Floats in Cut. McCarthy Tract. March 12, 1901." With ink stains on the boarder, heavy fading of the image as well as a cut in the photograph, the object is in fair condition.
