Description

Color: Black; White "Kodakery," Vol. 16, No. 4, December 1928 issue, 31 pp., published by the Eastman Kodak Company. The front cover has a gray border, within which is a darker gray panel. At the top is the title with the subtitle, "A / MAGAZINE FOR AMATEUR / PHOTOGRAPHERS." Below this is a colored photograph, within a white and gray border, of a man taking a photograph of his family seated by a Christmas tree. The publication date and price (5 cents) is underneath the image and the company name and place of business, designated as "The Kodak City," is at the bottom. On the back cover is an advertisement with prices for the No. 2C Autographic Kodak Junior and lenses. The inside front cover and flyleaf contains an advertisement for cameras and the Cine-Kodak home movie camera as Christmas gifts. Articles include the use of photographs to make a Christmas memory book and greeting cards; the use of Kodak film on one of Richard Byrd's South Pole expeditions; getting a correct exposure; and giving a Kodak camera as a Christmas gift. At the rear are sections such as testimonials from users on Kodacolor home movie film, information on why the film cartons are dated, advertisments on the Graflex camera, print film, photo albums, home movie panochromatic film and making home movies for Christmas. On the bottom of the back cover is a stamp for The Holden Drug Company, Stockton, California. In good condition, the artifact has a vertical half-fold, a few creases and some surface soiling.
