"LOS ANGELES TIMES ANNUAL MIDWINTER NUMBER, PART ONE," 3 JANUARY 1928 Color: Black; Blue; Red; White "Los Angeles Times Annual Midwinter Number, Part One," 3 January 1928. The 30-page item has a red, white, and blue image on the front of a shirtless man with a garland on his head, navigating a ship by holding a sternwheel with "WESTWARD HO!" on it. At the top is the title and at the bottom is the part number, date, and price. Contents include items on the promotion of southern California; tourism; roads; national parks; prehistoric finds; articles on locales in the region, but also the entire Pacific Coast and Baja California; sports; hotels; cultural activities; and schools. There are many photographic illustrations and many advertisements to the item, which is in poor condition with much brittleness; heavy soiling; much browning; moisture damage; mustiness; stains; and small tears.
