"Harpers-Ferry Free Press," Volume 2, Number 93, Virginia, 14 May 1823. A weekly newspaper covering the news of Virginia and West Virginia, in publication from 1821-1824. This issue consists of a folio. It includes a grocery list, advertisements for shoe makers, houses for rent, news from Mexico, list of spring goods for sale including cloth and clothes, poems, advertisements for medications. The newspaper is in poor and fragile condition with several tears and losses, though in a supple state due to the cotton fiber of the paper composition.
