Description

Color: Blue; Brown; White "Olson Rugs," issued by the Olson Rug Company, 1926. The 34-page catalog has a light brown paper cover with a full cover color illustration of two women in a corner of a living room or den admiring a blue rug at the center of the room. Across the top is the title and name and address of the company. On the bottom right corner is a vertical rectangle with the words, "This Book / tells how to / SAVE 1/2 / on / The Popular / One and / Two-toned / Rugs." On the back is a color illustration of a living room with a brown rug. Below this is, "Taupe - see pages 7 and 29." On the bottom is a note about the advantages in decorating the home with two-toned rugs, the catalog number, and copyright date. At the beginning is a guarantee; a note on exchanging old rugs and carpets for new rugs; an article on the manufacturing process of Olson rugs; and a note on the qualities that rugs bring to a home. There are many rugs available in such colors as bengal brown; beaver brown; mahogany; jaspe green; mulberry; mole; and taupe. Many color illustrations are also included. Inserted in the back is a letter to a customer, an order blank, and a freight tag. The object is brittle due to the tearing along the spine; with creases; a dent; rust stains from the staples; and a) loose pages 17-20, making it in fair condition.
