Oral history given by Ken Pickard describing his roots and his family's roots on Whidbey Island. Foscuses specifically on Ebey's Prairie and Ebey's Landing. In the interview Ken Pickard talks about the struggles and legal battles that he and his wife, Claire, went through to fight for and preserve Ebey's Prairie. The struggles in the interview refer to family, community, and legal battles. There is also a description and brief history of the Jacob Ebey house, where Pickard and his wife lived for 10-12 years.
