A transcript of an oral history by Jimmie Jean Cook. The interview covered her personal history and how she came to live in Coupeville, and her interest in the history of Coupeville. She was the county liaison for an inventory of properties for the National Historic Register. Led to her book: "Penn Cove, A Particular Friend". She discussed the people of the area, Ebey's, the Prairie, SWIFT (Save Whidbey for Tomorrow), the Reserve. Discussed sea captains and others: John Alexander, Captain Thomas Coup, Captain Howard Lovejoy, Lieutenant WIlkes, Barstow, Faye, Holbrook. Mentions China trade, timbers. Zylstra house.
