Scope and Content

An article from the Evertte Herald entitled "House panel OKs money for Whidbey park purchase" by Allan May. The article discusses the money needed to the 300-acre Smith Farm at Ebey's Prairie. Spokesman John Wilson said that "the biggest hurdle was getting it put into the budget by the subcommittee". Also, "Wilson said the apprepriation had been eliminated from the budget submitted to Congress by President Carter but...a member of the committee, has pressed for the approporiation". The appropriation request would need to be passed by the full committee and then go to the House and then it would need Senate approval.
