Capt. Joseph Warren Clapp House circa 1886. 307 NE Front Stree, Coupeville Queen Ann style. Wood frame set on post and block foundation. Has been altered soom.
Captain Clapp, a sea captain and local public official, purchased this house in 1886. The Clapp's resided in the house for over 50 years. In the 1920's they added the 1 story bedroom on the west facade. A retired navy family purchased the house in the mid 1940's. The next orners were Rondald and Mable Race who bought the house in the late 1950's. The Mosher's owned the house during the 1960's and made many changed to the interior. Ron VanDyk purchased the house in 1969 and had been restoring the interior. He added the bay window on the east facade which was salvaged from the Kohne House at Prairie Center.Lexicon
