Scope and Content

Handwritten note which accompanied donated Kellogg family coffeepot (2016.153.001). Note appears to have two unknown authors & to likely been written at different times as one script is in blue ink and the other in black. Written on a wide-ruled sheet of note paper. Donated August 2016 along with coffeepot by Barbara Stenson Spaeth - widow of Earl Cahil. Blue writing says: For Margaret Cahail, grandfather Dr. John C Kellogg was born in 1820 [20 is in black ink written over what appear to be 12]. This teapot was a wedding present when he & grandmother were married, so it is over 100 years old. Feb. 4th, 1935 Black writing says: Given to Alice Kellogg, Seattle July 2, 1902 [?] Grand Pa K Married in 1847
