Scope and Content

Email correspondence from Sharon Edwards to Sarah Aldrich about 1950s Cozy Tavern-Clinton. Sharon states that she will run off a copy of the Deed and send it along with two original photos taken of Deer Lake Resort on Opening Day - April 14, 1957. She notes that because James Klones bought the property in 1950 that the photos must be seasonal. She also attached a picture of the Kalakala (1934-1966). She states that her mother and father worked the concession stand around 1948 for about 5 years. She included an original Menu from that time and will copy it. When her mother and father orked the concessions on the ferries, they lived in a small cabin directly on the Clinton beach (left side) as one got off the ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton (They are condos now). Their neigbor and best friend was Dick hawkins. He owned the Tavern at the top of the hill. It was called "Dick's Tavern"around 1949 and might be the Cozy Tavern now. She further states that most of her relatives are buried at the lovely Langley Cemetary. Sharon also stated that she attended Langely Elementary School from 1949-1952, as well as her two brothers.
