Antique quilt believed to be made by Coupeville pioneer and longtime resident, Caroline Terry Kellogg. Donated by Susan Odway Rola of Bend, OR who purchased it at an estate sale in California around 1998. 81" x 65", Circa 1852
Documents include & stored with Deed of Gift are as follows:
1. Appraisal form from 1996
2. Yellow paper tag which was pinned to quilt when purchased in 1996 stating "Pieced while she walked ahead of the oxen when crossing the plains in 1852 - by Caroline Terry Kellogg"
3. Paperwork from a quilt show/sale at which is appears donor had it up for show/sale for $1800. It did not sell. Paperwork notes "dirt & stain marks on back". Also attached it a yellow Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show ribbon from July 9, 2016, Sisters, Oregon.
4. One page write up on Caroline Phoebe (Terry) Kellogg - Maker of the Quilt : research donor had compiled.
5. Written story of the quilts history & cover letter from donor.
