Description

Battery Parker Gun #1. Model M1905 serial #3 mounted on M1903 serial# 74 disappearing carriage. Mounted at Battery Parker 1905, dismounted 1917. 6-inch 50 caliber gun. the camera is facing north toward Ebey's Landing. The emplacement is painted a green color to cut down on light reflection. The white recess includes three electric lights for battery illumination. Under the cover is an M1906 2-inch telescope. Also included in the parapett wall is a breach recess and a manuvering rind (Hook). Battery named after Brevet Lt Thomas D Parker 2nd US Infantry. Killed June 27, 1862 Civil War Peninsular campaign.
