Coupeville Pioneer Buildings This page highlights three pioneer buildings to include; the log house built at Coveland in 1851 by Jacob Smith and ater sold to Capt. James Swift, the fireplace in the John Davis blockhouse, and the old courthouse at the head of Penn's Cove. Built in 1855 by Thomas Cranney to serve as store and trading post. Each clipping is featured in the Seattle Sunday Times Pacific Parade Magazine Section on Historic Whidby Island.
