Description

Postcard (2 copies): "Making Camp" c.1912 Built in 1861, the first of two lighthouses at Admiralty Head (also known as Red Bluff Lighthouse) was moved several times while the fort was under construction. The 1903 Lighthouse is in the left background. Coast Artillery troops were also qualified infantry in order to land defend the fort if necessary. When money was available meneuvers were conducted on the Olympic Peninsula, when not available camps were set up behind the gun line.
