A letter written in ink that reads "Be it known to all present: In commemoration of the 200th Birthday of the united states of america, Oak Harbor historical society museum dedication is hereby declaredan offical bicentennial event, and is entitled to be recognized as such. We thank the organization for it's support ad participation, and for its recognition of the new "Spirit of 76" a reaffirmation of the goals and ideals for which our great nation stands. Dated this day 26th day of April 1976"
