Description

10-inch M1900 Serial #9 gun mounted on a M1901 Serial #8 disappearing carriage. Battery Kingsbury gun #2. The camera is facing east. The parados bridge left side. Battery Kingsbury emplacement #2 was the only 10-inch emplacement constructed for the M1901 carriage. Completed 1904 (the other six 10-inch emplacement mounted M1896 disappearing carriages). The original gun barrell was Model M1888M1-dismounted WWI (World War I) era and replaced with the M1900 barrell. The gun and carriage were dismounted and scrapped F.Y.1943 by order dated 24 Oct 1943. The emplacement was filled in and a M1917 MII anti-aircraft gun installed. "The big gun at Casey, May 3/30"
