Photo of Joseph Maddox: "Joseph Maddox was the son of Wm & Rebecca Maddox. Joseph was 16 years old when he arrived on Whidbey Island along with his mother, brothers and sister in spring of 1853. Joseph homesteaded land in Mount Vernon in the 1870's. Born about 1837 in Michigan. Died July 24, 1883 age 46. Joseph was maried twice - both times to Native American Indigenous Peoples.
