Handwritten note from Roger Sherman on photo's reverse reads, "1911 owned by S.S. Freeman of San Francisco. She was a lumber vessel. In 1912 she was knocked down on the Columbia River bar, off the end of the jetty, damaged rudder, stove in hull and carried away her entire lumber deckload. She was towed back into Astoria like picture shows."Photograph Details
