Description

Toadhall/Newcombe House (2004 photos) . Photos taken in 2004. The residence used to be owned by local artist, Richie Benson. (He built Toadhall). Partial view of exterior of Toadhall. Two different structures appear to have been "recycled" by being joined together. Section of house with wooden slats going horizontally in several layers. Two small windows, dusty and ornaments crowded inside. Attached above this section is an annex of a sort, an anteroom with wooden slats going vertically. It juts out from the rest of the structure and is secured by wooden planks and metal poles. It has two small portholes like on a ship, which are surrounded by a different coloured wood, some of which is painted red. This entire structure is resting upon a pier of sorts made of wooden planks pieced together in no uniform or seemingly safe way. Metal/wooden poles sticking up here and there. White wooden fencing behind on right of photo. Rock and sand from beach visible below.
