A photo of a woman sitting in a large cane chair, wearing a dark dress with a lacy scarf, a lace cap tied under her chin. She is holding a cane in both hands. On the back: "Edith - Grandmother - Madam A. Plammondon. Mrs. Dillon's Mother died in Salem, OR, aged 92 years 1887. She lived in Seattle with Edith and Albert Kellogg after the death of her daughter Marie Plamondon Dillon until 1884 when the family moved to Whidbey Island. Grandmother was a Catholic & there was no church of her faith there. She & Edith conversed in French as she spoke very little English." The studio name states Seattle, W.T. so the postcard was probably taken before 1889 when Washington gained statehood.
