Abstract of Title for land: "Beginning at a point 3.85 chains East of the quarter section corner of the South side of Section 38, Tp. 33 N. R. 1 East, and running thence North 39.25 chains; thence East 40 chains; thence South 81.68 chains; thence N. 63° 30' W. 4.54 chains; thence N. 78° 59' W. 12.00 chains; thence S. 84° W. 12.50 chains; thence S. 65°W. 18.84 chains; thence N. 48.05 chains to the place of beginning, containing 318.56 acres." This Abstract of Title contains patents, plat maps, warranty deeds, mortgages, quitclaim deeds, petitions for letters of administration, inventory and appraisement filings for the estate of Solon E. Spangler, affidavits, description of the plat of Oak Grove addition, and more. The first patent record filed in this Abstract for this portion of land is attributed to Zacharias Martin Taftezon [sic], c. 1866.
