Opening Day of Fishing: April 14, 1957 at Deer Lake Resort. Owner James Klones 1950-1958. James was born in Crete in 1883. He died in 1958 and the property was sold at that time. He is buried at Langley Cemetary. He owned a small grocery store in downtown Seattle and in 1950 bought Deer Lake Resort which consisted of a log cabin, bait and snack ship and several small cabins. The sign hanging on the right side says: 'Help yourself to a cabin or boat. $1.50 to $3.00 per day. Back soon. Register your license. Not responsible for accidents on this property."
