Photo of the building at 22 NW Front Street. It is a two-story building seen from the rear, from the wharf before the right side railing was added. There is a balcony off the back second floor. Logs are on the beach. On the back: Gillespie Livery Stable. This has a close up view of the same perspective as the two photos before and after this one (109 and 111). 1897 fruit dryer. 1908 livery and feed stable. 1916-1920 cars and jitney service, 1941-1945 grain storage. 1951-1955 Lindsay's Marina. 197-75 remodel; 2 apartments upstairs. 1977-1980 Marty's Snack Shop. 198-1982 Coupeville Travel Brokers upstairs. 1986 Trader's Wharf closed; Country Scoop Ice Cream and Yogurt. 1987 The Party Works Sweet Shop, Country Cottage. 1988 Penn Cover Gallery, Nordic House and Nautical 'N' Nice added. 1989-1993 Skipper Crew, Party Works, Nautical 'N' Nice and Chowder Bar. 1993-1996 Party Works (changed to B'Twixt & B'tween in 1993-1994), European Uncommon Market, Nautical and Bar. 1997 WIndjammer Gallery and Custom Frame, Uncommon Market. Added attorney in 2000-2001. 2003 Windjammer and Uncommon and Nautical, added Atelier Michelle and Attorney and SCS Engineering and Coastal Planning Offices. 2007 Windjammer. 2008 added Coupe's View and Rep. Norma Smith's Office. 2009 Windjammer and real estate office. 2014-present WIndjammer and Vail wine with Front Street Realty office in 2015. From old entry:Gillespie livery stable Unit 6, Drawer A (Coupeville Livery Stable) Per PNRO page 150: built in 1897 on the site of the Coupeville Mill Company to house a fruit dryer for shipment to the Alaska gold fields. James Gillespie purchased it in 1908 for a livery and feed stable. 1950s it was Lindsay's Marina. Then an antique store and ice cream parlor.
