Photo of 23 NW Front Street. Now called Mariners' Court. It is on the corner of Front and Alexander Streets. Note the mortar shell on the corner. These are still dirt roads. Two gas pumps are in front of the building and one is on Alexander Street in front of the Starwanna Hotel/Blockhouse Inn. It has two large windows on the right, a door with window above in the center, a garage door, then a small boarded up window set up high on the left and along the side. A fence is leaning against the side of the building. Signs: GMC, Pontiac Authorized Service, Central Garage Pontiac Sixes and Eights, Authorized Distribution (Chevron), Standard Oil Products, Standard Lubrication System, Atlas Tires and Batteries. It looks like a sign was above the building but it is very faint. On the back: Cushen built garage - Al Sorgenfrei owned it later. 1925 Cushen Ford. 1930s Whidbey Dairy Products and a restaurant. WWII frozen food lockers and creamery. 1947-1958 Lindsay's Grocery Store, meat market and cold lockers and meat lockers. 1959 Linday's marina. 1974 small shops and remodel. Asian Moon, Knots & Bolts, Museum office, Knead and Feed, WA State Extension. 1976 Michaels Your Place (1987 became Christophers, 1996 became Front Street Grill, sold as Christophers and moved out in 2002). 1976 Let Your Mama Cut Your Hair bookstore, barber shop, Pelican's Pocket (until 1981), Toad Hollow, Honey Bear, Gold shop. 1978 Toy Story, studio. 1980-1981 Treasures Books and Music. 1995-2001 Captain City Brewery. 2000-? Touch of Dutch. 2001 Coupeville Festival Association. 2007 Scrap Things, Fresh Flower Express (until 2009). 2013 Coupeville Emporium. 2016 Posh, in 2017 combined with consignment shop. 2019: Honey Bear, Posh Upscale Retail, Salon Blue, Whidbey Natural Pet. Per PNRO page 149: built in 1925 for the Cushen Ford dealership and Garage.
