Photo of 23 NW Front Street. Now called Mariners' Court. It is on the corner of Front and Alexander Streets. It has two large windows on the right, a door with window above in the center, another large window and a blank wall (looks like boarded up window). A large window is on the right side. Note the mortar/artillery shell on the corner. Whidby Dairy Products Co. on top. Two cars are on the road. (Unclear if it is a dirt road or paved.) A woman is inspecting items in a display case in front beside the door. Another woman is walking past the car on the left. Sticky note: Photo from Ilah Engone (sic - Engom). Cushen Garage now occupied by Sullivan Restaurant and LIndsay Grocery. Note blank artillery shell. It had been fired from Fort Warden across Admiralty Inlet and landed in a field near Coupeville and was moved to this corner. Stamped on back: Mariner's Court, 02/24/10. Asian Moon, Knots & Bolts, Museum office, Knead and Feed, WA State Extension. 1976 Michaels Your Place (1987 became Christophers, 1996 became Front Street Grill, sold as Christophers and moved out in 2002). 1976 Let Your Mama Cut Your Hair bookstore, barber shop, Pelican's Pocket (until 1981), Toad Hollow, Honey Bear, Gold shop. 1978 Toy Story, studio. 1980-1981 Treasures Books and Music. 1995-2001 Captain City Brewery. 2000-? Touch of Dutch. 2001 Coupeville Festival Association. 2007 Scrap Things, Fresh Flower Express (until 2009). 2013 Coupeville Emporium. 2016 Posh, in 2017 combined with consignment shop. 2019: Honey Bear, Posh Upscale Retail, Salon Blue, Whidbey Natural Pet.
Per PNRO page 149: built in 1925 for the Cushen Ford dealership and Garage. In 1930-40s Whidbey Dairy Products. 1948 as grocery store, then service center for Lindsay's marina. 1974, converted to minimall with various shops.
