Abstract of Title for land: "Beginning at a point 3.85 chains East of the quarter section corner on the South side of the Section 35, Twp. 33 N.R. 1 E. running thence North 39.25 chains; thence East 40 chains; thence South 81.68 chains; thence North 63° 30' West 4.54 chains; thence North 78° 30' West 12 chains; thence South 84° West 12.50 chains; thence South 65° West 12.84 chains; thence North 45.05 chains to place of beginning, containing 318.56 acres." This Abstract of Title contains patents, deeds, warranty deeds, mortgages, quitclaim deeds, petition for letters of administrator, inventory of the estates belonging to Edward Barrington, plat descriptions, maps, bonds for deeds, affidavits, inventory and appraisement of the estate of Susan Smith, real estate contracts, and more. The first patent record for this portion of land is attributed to Zacharias Martin Taftezon [sic] (Taftzen), dated 1866.
