Front view of Horace Holbrook's house, built 1896 photo taken 1971. From the old AT 1303 entry: Horace Holbrook House built in 1895, Vernacular Farm. Wood frame set on post and pier foundation rectangle (25' X 20") Horace Holbrook, a local carpenter and shipbuilder, built this house c. 1895. Additions were made to the structure over the next few years with a second floor added over the kitchen area. During the survey work in 1971 Alice Forrester, Holbrook's niece owner the property. Few changes have been made to the structure with the exception of modernization of the interior. One of the board and batten outbuildings on the site was used by Holbrook as a boat building shop. The house is located at 805 Northwest Alexander Street, Coupeville and is now own by Jeanne Carrington. parcel #R13233-352-3600 This property is significant under National Register criterion C See Blue Book pg 71. 1995: One contributing building and three contributing structures.
