From old entry: House, Kineth John & Jane, also known as the Harvey House. Italianate Residence. 702 North Main. This house was constructed for John and Jane Kineth by HB Lovejoy in 1887. The Kineth's had farmed a Donation Claim near Snakelun Point but chose to have a house built in Coupeville for retirement. During the 1920's-30's, the house had several owners and was used as a summer home for a time. From the 1940's to 1077, Gertie Parker lived in the house. In 1982, the Harvey's purchased the house and have recently completed restoration of the structure. The summer kitchen , woodshed and patio on the west facade were replaced with a new addition and deck in 1983. Few other changes have been made to the exterior of the structure. One contributing building. This property is significant under National Register criterion C, because it embodies the distinctive characteristics of architectural expressions and methods of construction that represent the period of community development in the Reserve, from 1871 until 1910.
