Central peak for the roof. On the back: John Leach. 1883 Home of Calista Kinney Lovejoy Leach. p. 88 110A. House is at 801 N. Main St. From old entry: John Leach House located at 801 N Main Street, Coupeville John Leach a local businessman built this house in 1883 and used it as the Headquarters Saloon as well as his personal residence. In 1886, Coupeville became a "dry" town and the liquor license for the Headquarters Saloon was revoked. Calista Kinney Lovejoy married Leach in 1880 and the house was still owned by a member of the Lovejoy family into the 2000's. It is now owned by David and Diane Binder (2009) The property was subdivided after 1983 and the orchard was removed. One contributing building and one continbuting structure. (page 75 PNRO inventory blue book) This is a significant structure under National Register criterion C. Unit 7/ Drawer B PNRO page 75: John Leach built the house in 1883.
